golfito is a good start to install your new home. for washing machines, aircondition, televisions and kitchen electrical equipment you spend much less then in san jos�. everybody ticos and foreingers have to get get a shopping card one day before. it is allowed to bay $600.- each six months. sometimes somebady likes to get goods over $600 and so they have to get a shopping card extra. there are always some ticos in the shopping aerea trying to sell the rigths (about 7000colones) thats not legal, but everybody is duing that. a transport company (transporte delagado) takes care of your big boxes and bring theme to a good price up tu san jos�. good luck
